Chinese Chestnuts

Where the Boskydel experimental vineyard used to be is now a chestnut orchard. No, we're not making chestnut wine--we're growing Chinese Chestnuts, which are low in fat and highly nutritious. They also make a lovely appetizer with your favorite Boskydel wine and they are available for purchase at the winery. Visitors to the winery can sample the chestnuts in winter, roasted on an open fire. Hours are 1-6 seven days a week.

Cost: $5 per pound (limited supplies).

Is It Hot In Here?
This is one of the world's few remaining icosahedron stoves, a 20-faced polyhedron, to be exact. A fire in here can last all night - which is more than we can say for some winery workers.
