The Wine List
All of Boskydel wines are
100-percent estate-bottled. That means the grapes used to make the wine came from our "estate" or property.
Some wineries would lead you to believe that you are drinking a local product, but if it doesn't say Leelanau Peninsula
or Old Mission Peninsula on the label, the grapes could have come from just about anywhere.
All Boskydel wines are French-American hybrids, grown to withstand the cold winters while producing a high-quality
stock of vin ordinaires , which can be enjoyed at substantially lower prices than wines of "higher breeding."
SOLEIL BLANC
(So-lay blahnk)....
From the French for "white sun," Soleil Blanc is our premium white wine, reminiscent of a good Loire Valley varietal. Bone dry with a touch of oak. This wine sells out fast, so buy now, but age for at least a year before drinking. Per bottle price: $8.75.
VIGNOLES (Vee-nyole)....Formerly Ravat 51, this French Hybrid has some Chardonnay in its parentage, as evidenced by the small, tight bunches. Dry, spicy, with a crisp aftertaste. Per bottle price: $8.45.
SEYVAL BLANC (Say-vahl blahnk)....A semi-sweet white varietal with an apple nose. Good as a dessert wine or with dinner. This is another popular white that sells out quickly. Per bottle price: $7.65.
AURORE BLANC (Ah-roar-ah blahnk)....Another semi-sweet white; very crisp, clean with a pleasant nose and smooth finish. Good as a dessert wine or with dinner.
Per bottle price: $7.45.
VIN BLANC (Vin blahnk)....Literally "white wine," this blend is a good value for a good table wine--semi-sweet.
Per bottle price: $6.45.
Coming attractions: We're planting a Traminette hybrid soon that should have many characteristics in common with the spicy German favorite, Gewurtztraminer.
